Default Quick June Sprints report.

Just got off the phone with a racer there... Phil Smith and Tom Sloe are #1 and #2 qualifiers. Phil Smith used Phil Harper power to put his Chevy (yes your read that right) on the pole. Both guys use Pro Systems carburetion. Heys thats alright. First round of drinks is on me.

Default June Sprint update.

I talked to Andy McDermid (he's on our Test Team..so he calls with updates) he won the June Sprints race (its the first time out for the car this year...has a few small bugs to work on).

But Tom Sloe had a bad wreck (broke the roll cage) he was in the lead at the time he went off the track. I haven't heard from him, hope he's O.K.

Phil Smith came in second.

Tom Sloe had the pole, with Phil second and Andy third.
Sloe crashed. No word on what happened.

Here my report.

The weather was wonderful all weekend. I think that this is the greatest race track in the country. Wonderful town and just great stuff.

I thought I had the pole with my 2.31.5. I was very happy with the car all weekend. The car was great and very fast. I did two qualifiying laps on Sunday and the second one was slower so I parked the car with hope that it would hold up. Sloe went out with about 5 minutes left and did one more hot lap and it was a burner. 2.29.4 is amazing in an A/S car. He can wheel that thing around like you can't believe. It also has good motor. I was pretty happy still.

At the start Sloe was on the outside in the row in front of me. Andy and I were next to each other with the rest of the field behind. I was in the row that decided not to go. Going into 5 it was Sloe, Andy and myself with Jason behind me. FYI Jason has the best looking A/S in the country. That car is a show car.

It stayed this way for a while. I lost a wheel weight on lap 4 and the car was not happy, Andy had a pretty big flat spot and also had a vibration. We raced pretty hard with Sloe and Andy pulling a gap on me.

Something broke in Sloe's car on the exit of the Kink. He hit super hard. His door was stuck in the concret barrier about 100 yards from where the car stopped. He gave us the thumbs up but he looked a pretty shaken.

It was a super hard hit. I am glad that he was ok.

We were under caution for about 3 laps and then it went green. Andy and I raced for about one lap. Jason was in third but went off in 12 and then again in 1. He said that a ball joint broke. Then a T-1 vette hit hard on the exit of Canada and they decided that they had enought of our race group and put the checker out.

Congratulations Rich on a great podium. Andy great job on the new car and nice win. We had some fun with Champagne after the race.

Kyle lost his new motor with a hole in the block. Monty lost a motor also and his back up motor did not run.

I wished that they would have made the race.

Philip
