I have ballast bolted under the car and some bolted to the floor. I would be in favor of lowering all the cars by 50#. Lowering the weights might only hurt those who carry no ballast and are right on the minimum now, due to driver size.
As to the other weight changes, the CRB will be gathering data to see what the changes have done, just like we gathered data to recommend adding weight. If the data warrants, the ASAC and the CRB will address that as it comes up. So, if you raced at the old weight, race at the new weight and let's see how it plays out.

You say the data warranted the added weight, but the correlation to reality proves otherwise. Seems to me there is a narrow scope of data points and factors taken into consideration, but neglecting the whole picture of vehicle specs vs performance. There is a flaw in the SCCA system that is being ignored, and a change that they cannot prove to needed, as I know for a fact that The data taken from our car and the result of that time on the track do not show an advantage.

The club has in place a rule change that a vast majority opposes, and negatively affects a good portion of the class. At this point the club should worry more about reactive measures for next year to bring up car counts... They will need it.

This statement is not true.

"The club has in place a rule change that a vast majority opposes"

They don't oppose it because it helps them. I don't oppose making adjustments but I believe this was the wrong move. I may bolt the weight on so I can do the June Sprints. If they put the box in my car I'll probably throw it out the window though.

The weight or the box? haha. Either way, try and Aim for a spec miata. The results may net you a -400 lbs before the runoffs

Good idea Danny. I'll hit a baseball camp this spring and work on my aim.

Jim, you are correct, I do apologize. I was referencing the forum feedback rather than CRB letters. This is all a moot point if letter are not submitted.

No sweat. The CRB and the ASAC will be watching this issue closely during the start of the season. As with any class, when we change the BOP we always get negative responses from the drivers that are hit and positive responses from drivers who say, "it's about time". Not sure where this one will end up but it is important to get out and race and don't throw the Aim unit out the window, which will get you DQ'd at the very least, and will provide no data for your point of view.
