Saturdays race phillip was out ahead of me and tom himes, me and tom were having a pretty close race until thd race leader split us and a yellow flag came out because a GT2 car hit the tire wall at turn 1, so the pace car picked up the leader and tom and a few other cars were waved by and joined the back of the pack.

Phillip took 1st, tom placed 2nd and i placed 3rd

Sundays race phillip was out ahead again me and to werehaving a good race for the 1st lap or 2, then i spun going into the carousel and never was able to recover.

Just glad we were able to get out and have some fun racing
Also congrats to phillip for 1st both days
Tom was able to figure the track out fast so big conratulations to him

Sure wish I coulda been there. It was painful being at home. Where's Tim and Jim this year? You guys racing?

A sedan was flying.

I was the GT2 car that hit the wall. Initially i thought it was a run out of talent issue because i screwed up the downshift, but when we got it home and looked underneath, the left rear trailing arm/shock mount was broken.

Possibly due to the bad downshift, but more likely also general fatigue.

Apparently those are considered throw away parts that need to be changed frequently. So I guess 3+ seasons was lucky.

I apologized to a bunch of people, it took them a while to extract me and it F'd up the race.

I looks like we will have her back together in time for the Sprints. If not, I will run the Caddy.

It was great getting out and racing again. Fun seeing old friends and making some new friends. Gateway is a short little track and I can tell you doing 29 laps seems like forever. So happy everybody finished and no AS crashes. The 54 was strong all weekend. Did the test day on Friday because it has been some time since I was in the car. Dennis and I worked crazy hard changing a bunch of stuff trying to take some load off the right front in Nascar 3 and 4. Andy had a front row seat for the Dennis and Phil change everything we can show. We made some progress but still managed to blister the right front R compound tire during the Sunday race. The track is just hard on our heavy under tired cars.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at Road America. Weather looks perfect.

Both my wife and I are in the group that, if we get Covid 19, we die. She and I have committed to not exposing ourselves to this pandemic. So, she is not riding in the "hunt" and I am not racing. My first missed Runoffs since 1998, but we will be back next year. This is a trying time for all of us and I hope that opening up commerce will not result in more tragedy. At any rate, I can't tell you how much I miss you all and the racing. Be safe, wear your face mask, wash your hands and be careful that you don't endanger your loved ones who might be in the same situation in which I find Claudia and myself.
