Not sure if this is correct but the AS lap record goes back to 1996 by Mr. GroundControl Jay Morris with a 1:42.6!

He had nitrous, 850 Holley, and F1 brakes and 16" wheels, tech did not catch it. That week they were busting for number size and visibility.
BTW I did make an inquiry this morning as to the track record and will advise as soon as I hear. Paul Meier AS52 CEN DIV |

It was a good day today. Andy was very fast, but really got the nose taken
off his car by someone in turn 11. Station was yellow & debris flag for a fair bit of the session. He was getting car put back together this afternoon. I suspect it won't slow him down much tomorrow. Every single session in both yesterday's practice and today's qual has had a black flag all at one point. In today's qual that was after roughly 2-3 green flag laps, then we got about another 3-4 green flag laps after the BFA. Myself, Dylan Olson, and Beth Aquilante got impounded after qual session this morning. We got fuel sampled, carb checked for proper numbers and visual on carb for mods, and had to take off a front wheel so they could check brake rotor diameter and thickness. That was a big PTIA, because both Dylan and I are pitted in the separate turn 5 gravel paddock area, and had to borrow a jack, jack stands, some sockets and breaker bars to do what tech wanted. No excitement here, everyone passed no problems. So far, so good.
