AS (Limited Prep) Question

Has anybody ever considered allowing former "T" cars to fully transition to A/S? Also, Just my opinion as a spectator, but opening up the spec lines to All American, V8, RWD cars may attract more participation. I'm talking T-Birds, Monte-Carlos, GTO's, earlier Mustangs, Mavericks, etc. All makes/models would have to adhere to A/S drivetrain rules. Weights could be adjusted accordingly.

How cool would it be to see a 70 Camaro and a 68 Mustang in the grid? I know they're covered in Vintage, but down here Vintage races are more like parade laps than racing.

Just a thought..not trying to stir the pot.

I believe that, if someone wants to build a car to ASedan specifications, they should send in a request. I don't know whether that has ever been requested before.
You always could build a full out ASedan from a T2 GenIV Cam/Bird, or from a newer Mustang, the limited prep option is the new option.
When I was on the ASAC we heard from guys saying they didn't want to lose their fuel injected engines, to come to AS. That's where limited prep came from. It seems that most of those guys were talk and not action, as only a very few cars have come out to run as limited prep.

Thanks for the response. It's just my personal opinion that the grid would be "cool-as-hell" if it allowed for a greater variety of models, that's all.

I think it would be wonderful to have any old Camaro, Firebird, Mustang, Charger, TBird, Studebaker Lark, whatever in ASedan. That's just me, though.

so that it wasn't such a time bomb :-).

Course you'd have to find a reliable source for body parts,
and that might be interesting.

My late partner had one that came in white, with all kinds of spoilers and stuff. I used it to pre run for the Pikes Peak hill climb. It was a fun car.
