National Race results from HPT.
Qualifying: I was on sticker Hoosier A's 275 version. Kopp was on very used A's, Brannon, in the GTO on Kumhos left over from Runoffs. Track record for HPT 2.5 is 1:46.583 (Shawn Gray - 2009) wheel 1:47.357 Kopp 1:50.511 Chris 1:50.697 Race: Since we have been combined with SM and some other slower classes, the AS cars were up front and checked out of Dodge on the green flag. Chris got inside me on the carousel, but I held him off. Once the Hoosier R's got up to pressure, I got clear of Jeff and Chris. They had a good battle going, with Jeff passing Chris coming onto the front straight, Chris re-passing under full throttle at the end of the straight and after side-by-side over the hump, turn zero, Jeff took the position. Kopper has been dealing with some brake issues and he had another lock up on the next lap. Biiiiiig black streak, all the way from zero to one. He came in for a tire change and that was the race. wheel 1:50.179 Chris 1:50.653 Kopp 1:50.357 Last edited by jimwheeler; 06-07-2010 at 11:02 AM. |

You are correct. They hadn't updated the list I looked at, at the track. I didn't look at my own log, which shows the new times. Shawn has it at 46.5.
Thanks for catching that. wheel |

Heinricy has the official runoffs track record at a 1.45.818 done during the 08 race.
The quickest AS lap ever was in qualifying in 07 was Jason Von Kluge at 1.44.59 Wheels best lap in that 07 qualifying session was 1.45.701 07 race was in the wet so no track record was achievable that year. Last edited by Ted Johnson; 06-07-2010 at 01:23 PM. |

Being on a serious budget, that was the worst tires and brakes I have probably ever run on. I know I had time left from braking ability, grip and confidence in equipment. I am focussing on making it to the Runoffs on a budget you wouldn't even believe. Wheeler's tires came on as mine went away! haha. Jeff and I had some good clean side by side fun thought. We passed each other back and forth several times cleanly and had a good run. Sorry about your tire Jeff.
Jeff, How do you get on the list where you get whistle tested at every "Regional" race you practice in? haha. Sorry I couldn't help it. Nice run Wheeler. Congrats on the win and good to see all you guys. |

For some reason, they keep separate records for the Runoffs only, and for regular season racing. Maybe since the Runoffs is a much faster track. Probably since there is so much rubber on the track. They also clean up all the marbles between races, which they are not able to do during the regular season. The dirt and marbles were unbelievable by the time we got on track, as the last group on Sunday. I went off line, to lap some SMs and almost didn't make the next two corners. Brutal.
