Default 2007 MARRS 8 Crash at Summit Point

http://video.corral.net/video/1905

On the start of the race I STOMPED on the brake pedal instead of the clutch while attempting to go from 3rd to 4th gear. In 10 years of racing I've never done that. If I hadn't I would have been smack dab in the middle of this mess.

Gotta love divine intervention.

Dave and Bryan Dobyns got together coming into turn 1. Dave ended up off into the tire wall driver's right and bent the car up pretty badly. He then came back down amidst a flurry of debris sending tires everywhere. A couple of other cars got together in the incident if I recall correctly.

I usually end up passing that white Porsche on the starts while his tires are cold, fortunately I didn't do that this time.

That's crazy. Hey Christopher, you must know Ken Anderson. I just bought his car from him and I'm racing it in Atlanta region

Default Pat, glad to see you are on the board

Pat,

I was the other AS guy with the black 83 Mustang (#85) that took drivers school with you at Roebling, glad to see you are on the board. Maybe your car is also has the magic since you missed the wreck at the drivers school because you joined from the pits.

Have you done any races yet? and are you planning to come to CFR for some races, I would be good to see you again.

I am doing a few things to my car (legaling it up as I call it) and plan to make the June Sebring short course as my first regional race.

Andy

Hey man!! I know, it does seem to have some good luck with it. I ran out of gas on the grid and thank god I did cuz I would have been right in the middle of that crash. My first race is April 25 and 26 down at Roebling. I want to do some races in the future down there but I just have to have the money. If I can get some cash together I want to try and make it to Sebring, that would be fun. The next race that I know I am doing for sure is the race at Road Atlanta in July. Don't forget about the six inch rule on the fuel cell haha. We got lucky getting through tech at the school.

Post 17 has the video. I would have loved to race with you folks, AS regional in the SE was getting pretty sparse.

About all that is left is the Wilwood Brakes, some ring and pinions, a fire bottle, camshaft & lifters, headers, and the fuel stuff. The ROH wheels also but they are not ready to ship yet, when they are I'll post here first in the classified.

Best of Luck.
