Guys ..anyone have any reports on Saturdays racing for Wheel, Tucker, Kopp, et all??

Not there to see it myself but word is that we have our first fuel-injected AS win in the modern era. I'm sure we'll hear more soon. I myself won't be hitting the track until I pay off last year's racing ;).

Oh boy...lemme tell ya...



Jim broke his right spindle and spun on turn 4 after Chris got around him somewhere near or on the front straight, but before that, it was a barn burner. For the first two or so laps, the only thing separating those two was an EP Porsche. In my opinion, it was the fastest and best racing of the day up to that point. I was able to get out of working tech long enough to watch the race. Bill Tucker I think finished second and was smoking from the left front throughout the race, Tim White broke a strut but finished, I don't know about Scott Davies other than he finished, and the camouflaged Camaro ( I cannot remember the guy's name for the life of me) finished but also broke something. I didn't get to see the finish, I was busy giving Jim a hand with his car, which I enjoyed doing...it was the second race car I got to help work on this weekend. The first was a FC car that sheared it's flywheel bolts. I think if Jim's car had been right from the start, he and Chris would have put on quite a show.

Tough day for AS. Oh...and to top it off (from my point of view), on the way home after the race, my "Check Engine" light came on. (Remember...cabureted/converted '97 Mustang...)

For me, from a personal standpoint, it was a great weekend. I made alot of new friends, met alot of people, and learned alot about racing in general just by working tech. I've been nominated as the fire suppression guru, and next time at Hallett I'll be working the grid as well as tech, and licensed to boot. The whole weekend was like being a kid in a candy factory. I got some badass pics...I'll post them as soon as I can, and if anyone wants copies in the original size and format, PM me.

Now all I have to do is get the sound of those damned Spec Miatas out of my head...I keep hearing them over and over. I'll have nightmares about those things...


EDIT: Jeff...you should have at least come. One more screaming idiot standing at the bunker at turn 4 wouldn't have hurt...lol.

hmmmm sounds pretty close for a 3600 non competative boat anchor car...
either Jim was off his game for to be that close or something is up in Kansas

congrats to Tucker .... and everyone for their efforts.

It is 3680 and it is only non competative when running against (T1)Solstice's. Jim and I are both known to be very fast there. I have at least 16 races and countless test days there. I would call a broken spindle an issue not him off in his game and before you get your black helicopter up in the air.....take a look at my thread on the Qualifying times and Race results.

I did prepare the car for AS you know. I did not just show up in a T2 car and hope things would work for me. :thumbsup: Also keep in mind that you guys change gears at every track..........I can't! What may we close at one track will not be at another.
