About halfway, something broke in the drivetrain from the transmission back. I haven't taken the car off the trailer yet, but I think it is the rear end.

Autobahn has some very nice facilities. It looks like they are well financed.

For example, the tire walls were made from *new* tires. No joke. (Maybe they got them as factory rejects or something, but they appeared brand new.)

And a flush porta john with sink at the corner station I broke at...

It was like a bizarro version of Nelson Ledges from 10 years ago.

I haven't heard of this track. Where is it? How is the layout?

Kyle,
It's near Joliet IL. It's a Private Club Track that you can become a member of.

Why were the qualifying lap times slower than the race lap times?

Because they went faster in the race than in qualifying. Geeez, Bill. Sorry, I just couldn't help but hit that softball.

Actually, I am pretty sure most were learning the track, and it just got better in the race. Seat time...

Actually, I am pretty sure most were learning the track, and it just got better in the race. Seat time...When a new AS student once asked the Wise Ackerman "Oh Wise One, why do Ford engines make more power than GM engines?" the Wise One replied, "Because GM engines make less."

You're killin me...... :p

Good call. I don't beleive anyone in our group besides Mark Bowden in a T2 BMW had ever seen the track before this weekend. Mark is a member and has spent a fair amount of time on all of their tracks. (2 totally separate tracks with a connector to make a long course, the third configuration)

Very interesting layout and impressive facility. The track we raced on is quite rough in the braking zones. The club apparently allowed it to be used too soon after it was paved. The are intending to repair it in the near future.
