New track record: 2:27.729. In case anybody is counting, that's about 3 seconds faster than last year's pre-aluminum head track record.

Looks like P1 for the Runoff might be 2.26:xx. Who would have thought that.

There are going to be some very fast times come the end of September.

Andy- Nice lap.

Thanks Wheeler. Nothing like the pressure of last minute planning. It was an 11.5 hour drive for me counting two stops for fuel and a quick snack. I thought I was flying out there until Andy disappeared after turn three on the first lap. Fred H and I had some really good side by side racing, position changes and drag racing down the straights. Those Fords sound amazing listening to them go down the straights but right beside you and 12" for your ear hole is painful. I knew I had 8 laps to get away before the tires were gone and the race was black flagged and called on lap 7. I was grateful to inherit 2nd (albeit 9 seconds a lap behind Andy), but Fred and I both knew a couple more laps and he was gonna get me. Great racing Fred though. He is a class act on the track. Congrats Andy. Nice to see Sharon West also! Can't wait till the big show.

Thanks for the kind words Chris. I really enjoyed it too. We don't get enough door to door time with anyone and it is really nice to race that way with you. Clean fast and fun. Good times for both of us! I think the last really close and fun racing like that I had was with Tom Toth. Same level of trust and fairness!

I look forward to seeing you at the runoffs.

The changes that have been made to the track are very nice and I expected everyone to be faster. I have been watch a variety of race series and their results at Road America and they too have been faster. I was expecting to run in the 2:34- 2:35 range and figured Andy would be doing 2:31's. I was wrong! I did not expect to see 2:27's on the grid sheet. I know he is the man at Road America and gives 110% everywhere he unloads the car......but Fred and I were not exactly short shifting and screwing around! haha. :D I plan on coming back in Sept for the big show with NOS and at 2500 lbs. Then maybe I can get a 4th or 5th place finish!

Don't say that too loud....next thing you know NOS will be up for member input. Hell all the kids with fart can exhausts are running it, it would drive the youth market into the club. Plus it will be a cost savings because the cars can burn less expensive pump gas. Then we will need big wings and Neon lights. Can we please run 18" wheels???? :ciao:

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Effective immediately, I abstain from the ADHOC for the next rule making cycle.... There is no where near enough cool racer chicks in AS racing, and this will have to go out for member input....

I think my thread about racing got hi-jacked! :D I was excited at first to see Wheeler's proposed rule changes to include NOS but was quickly deflated when I saw that I would have to run a much smaller wheel!

Here is lap 5 from this past weekend's National.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7gGDaZ8GTo

I learned alot on this lap:

1. Andy disappeared 4 laps earlier
2. Fred H. has no problem being 1" off of my rear bumper
3. Fred H. doesn't mind sticking his nose in on the inside of turn 2 and drag racing me down the straight.
4. I am dumb enough to brake later at the end of the straights than Fred H.
5. Since my exhaust fell off the car and almost hit Fred H. he said I am officially an A-sedan driver now! Woo Hoo
6. The GTO sounds freakin' awsome with no exhaust!
7. Carousel corner is slick!
8. The kink is scary as hell and fast when done properly.

Can't wait for the Runoffs. I know I won't win or even podium but I am going to race somebody.......and they are going to like it!:D

Ditto on your comments about Fred, he was on my bumper the entire runoffs last year and we did have some good races down the front straight. Of course, they don't show this once on TV.

Wow is that car loose. And it does sound cool. Since Chris hasn't parked with the American Sedan guys at the runoffs I need to warn your guys about him. Not only does he drive a loose converted T2 car but he has a kissing dog so when you pick a place to park at the runoffs don't park near Chris unless you want to be knocked down and kissed on the mouth by a beautiful boxer. Personally I think Chris taught her to do that. The T2 guys got tired of being kissed on the mouth all the time and thats why we kicked him out of T2 and into AS. You guys can have him, but I thought you needed to be warned about the boxer. Good luck at the runoffs Brannon, we won't be there this year.

Hey Bob,

I talked to Rob and hate it that you guys won't be there but I understand why. Hopefully I will see you guys somewhere in 2010.

What Cuda' the Boxer dog does is not called kissing. I like to use a furniture refinishing term called "shellacking"!

Shellacking: A thick, sticky substance used to coat something as a protective barrier.

Cuda' is not afraid to spring board 6' into the air.......kicking off of your "man pouch"......all the while darting her tougue into your mouth licking your teeth, gums, lips, throat (inside), and esophagus region.........thus giving you a good Shellacking. Some people have found it to be enjoyable and others were disgusted but everyone has come back for more. Bob was referencing a situation where his 6' 4" son (Rob) thought he was a safe distance up from Cuda' and while her back legs were digging into his man bag for a launch upward, his mouth opened with screams of pain and the inside of his mouth received a Shellacking as he fell to the ground. Good times! Good times! :D

I wasn't going to mention the shellacking so that the receptiant would be even more suprised. David she misses you too. She hasn't had a good kick since the last runoffs, not to mention a great kiss. LOL
