Add 17.1.7.G. "Measurement Standards. Measurement standards shall be as specified in GCR 11.4. with the following exceptions: Wheelbase has a tolerance of +2"/-1". Effective 1/1/2001.

Clarify section 17.1.7.D.1.c, p.53, to read as follows: "An open-sided, closed-top air cleaner assembly with a filter element having a maximum diameter of 14 inches and a maximum height of 3 inches is required. Filter element material is unrestricted. Velocity stacks, ram air, cowl induction, shrouding or ducting of air to the air cleaner or carburetor are not permitted.

Board of Directors Minutes


Revise 17.1.7.D.9.a.2. to read: "It shall attach to the car at eight (8) points consisting of the main hoop, the front hoop, the main hoop rearward braces, and two additional tubes extending forward from the front hoop to the firewall area. The forward extending tubes may extend through the firewall and attach to the shock or strut towers. If these tubes pass through the firewall, the resulting holes shall be completely sealed." Effective 1/1/2001. PASSED.
Revise GCR 17.1.7.D.1.1. by adding an additional paragraph as follows: "Any or all valve seats may be replaced. Valve seat material is unrestricted except that it must be ferrous." Remove from the engine build sheets the restrictions on the number of valve seats which may be replaced. Effective 1/1/2001. PASSED.

In order to clarify the Competition Board's intent with regard to specificationmeasurement and in order to provide a common set of measurement standardsfor all classes, the following rule change is proposed:



Add new GCR Section 11.4 as follows: "Measurement standards. Thefollowing specifications shall meet the standards set below unless otherwisespecified or unrestricted in the individual category or class preparationrules. Any specification not listed herein shall meet stock factoryspecifications unless otherwise specified or unrestricted in the individualcategory or class preparation rules. Absolute maximum means tolerancesof +0.000 inches or +0.000 millimeters. Absolute minimum means tolerancesof -0.000 inches or -0.000 millimeters. Measuring devices available toscrutineers differ from location to location so it is the responsibilityof the driver to insure that measurements comply with these rules.
Weight is absolute minimum
Track is absolute maximum
Rim width is absolute maximum
Wheelbase has a tolerance of +/-0.1"
Valve size is absolute maximum
Throttle bore and/or venturi size is absolute maximum
Drum brake size is nominal i.d. plus manufacturer's "turning" tolerance
Disk brake rotor diameter has a tolerance of +0.1"
Engine cylinder bore is absolute maximum before allowable overbore
Engine stroke length is absolute maximum
Referred to the Board of Directors for approval


Add new GCR Section 17.1.7.D.8.m. "Alternate windshield defroster(s) areallowed as long as they serve no other purpose." Due to safety considerations,effective upon publication with BoD approval.

The tubes from the front main hoop to the firewall may pass through thefirewall and attach to the shock or strut tower. If the tubes passthrough the firewall, the hole must be completely sealed. Effective1/1/2001.

Allow alternate window material
Allow alternate transmissions. The Competition Board will continueto consider a long term solution.
Combine Mercury Capri with the 1979 to 1993 Mustang.
Allow alternate hood for 1982 to 1992 Pontiac Firebird.
Allow alternate crankshaft. The Competition Board will continue toconsider a long term solution.
