Hey guys,

I just want to drop a note and publicly apologize to Andy McDermid for holding him up at the Buckeye Sprints.

I was struggling with an ill-handling car and was trying to keep up with T1 positions 1-6. Andy, from what I could see in my mirrors, was leading by a fairly substantial margin. So I just plugged along trying to push as hard as I could. If Andy was being pushed, I would have moved over, but since he was "clear" I wanted to continue.

Andy and I had some fiberglass-to-metal rubbing, but it was all "on me."

Phil Smith lost his brakes coming into the China Beach turn, the fastest part of the track. He dodged two cars, causing the Camaro to go sideways. It is a write-off after doing multiple rolls through the beach, ending up on the tires. For those of you who have not been to MidO, it the the right hand turn you see in the photo at the upper right of this page. He went straight. The beach, or sand area is to the right of the picture.
He is sore, but OK, but will not be racing at the Runoffs.

Any chance someone has a video clip or stills of the "off" by Phil?
I hope he is recovering ok and no longer feeling the affects....

I am doing much better. Still a little sore but I am going to try to play some golf today so I am feeling pretty well.

I saw the video and its pretty exciting. The video is not great because the picture drops out due to the forces on the camera.

Thanks for asking.

Philip
